A small enough beginning

Starting can become a project of its own. Before reading a chapter, a person reorganizes the evening, sorts a task list, and decides what a productive day should look like. Hush Hare removes most of that negotiation. It asks for one task and a bounded piece of time.

Naming the task is a modest commitment. It gives the interval a subject without demanding an outcome that the timer cannot verify. The clock can tell whether time elapsed; it cannot tell whether the paragraph was good or whether the reader understood every page. Keeping that distinction clear lets the tool remain helpful on an imperfect day.

The reward is correspondingly small. A completed focus interval unfolds a scene, creating a visible end to the session. There is no purchase or token requirement behind the image. The collection offers a little continuity across sessions without needing to become a competition. The useful question remains whether the experience made it easier to begin one thing.

The local timer supports a named task, a chosen duration, pause and resume, and separate focus and break intervals. Completed focus sessions unlock up to three scenes. Both completed and ended-early attempts enter the journal, which can be exported as CSV. The record describes elapsed timer time rather than independently verified attention.
